Hmm on my liteon, on the paper label, that last digit is 7, not 0 nor 1. That's what made me wonder why it drops the last digit and puts a 1.
...
This is definitely somethings only the devs can answer, but it would certainly be interesting to know.

Thanks for the awesome tool, I appreciate safety, that's why I think its important to know from garyopa or c4e or jungle crew if MS can indeed read the serial info.
You can verify the last letter here ...
C4e says that the SN isn't visible (at least at this time, i add) from what data the dvd sends to the console!

Hmm well on that pic, your last digit is zero. Mine is 1, but on the paper label on my drive it's a 7. Just that the tools ignore it and put a 0 or 1 for some reason.

Yeah I hope the serial info can't be read period. Opens too many possibilities if it is. BUT since JF 4.3b checks for it now, and c4e is part of the crew, it means it's possible otherwise they wouldn't put it in if they were 100% sure it can't be read.

Hey Pepsi could you do me a favor and give me a step by step tut on how to Spoof a MS25 to Lite-On. My Lite-On is knackered and I have an MS25 to replace it with. I don't plan to go on Live with this console anyhow as I have others for Live. I read some tuts on this but you seem to have had great success with yours and I'm pretty interested in learning how you did that. I do have the info from the Lite-On ready to spoof to the MS25 but not exactly sure of how it needs to be performed.

thanks

I kindly ask for help, I cannot solve by myself

After read this post I decided to write again my LiteOn. I have the following considerations:
1) I sucessfully have extract my keys from LiteOn (I am sure!)
2) JF always freezes when I try to erase and write my LiteOn, when hang my LiteOn become without firmware and it is difficult to insert a new one, anyway I handle to insert another firmware that do not have my key (but the LiteOn is working, can open/close etc)
3) I used DSDBFixer to check my key and I am sure that I have "good" key.bin, inquiry.bin, identify.bin and dummy.bin
>> Data: my computer Sata port is DD60 and COM 1 and have VT6421
Question: Please let me know which app I can use that is not JF that I can manually insert my "good keys" and erase and write my LiteOn, all the apps I am using always try to extract the key (and I already have it, I want to skip this stage) and how should be the command (if use DOS) to erase and write my LiteOn again?

Many thanks for the support!

I solve my problem after making an USB boot and under DOS mode merged the files (firmtool 1.3.1), erase LiteOn with L-O-Eras and write with DOSFLASH 1.7, all details in other posts in this Forum

I've had  alot of trouble with my flashing.

I've got it working now, but I would like some verification from someone as to whether or not this serial information does indeed need to be fixed.

Hi GiampyXBS;

As my previous posts I used your tool DSDBFixer to make sure my dummy was with the serial complete info inside. I flash my drive and currently keep it with iX 1.5

The new JF 0.1.5.1 was launched few days and also have a "complete serial checking for LiteOn" however using my keys, making another dummy with JF 0.1.5.1 and checking with your tool shows the following

10:04:17.453 : -------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:04:17.484 : Analisys started on : Tuesday, March 10, 2009
10:04:17.500 : -------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:04:17.515 : Opening file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Xbox360\CK3_ Ixtreme\From XBINS\JungleFlasher.0.1.51.Beta\dummy_JF0151.bin' ...
10:04:17.515 : File opened.
10:04:17.531 : Checking inquiry data...
10:04:17.546 : Inquiry data looks good.
10:04:17.546 : Checking identify data...
10:04:17.562 : Identify data looks good.
10:04:17.562 : Checking DVD key...
10:04:17.578 : DVD Key looks good.
10:04:17.593 : Checking DVD serial number...
10:04:17.593 : DVD serial number looks good.
10:04:17.609 : Checking OPTICAL serial number...
10:04:17.609 : Error on OPT serial data check: OPT sn data looks incomplete 'ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ' (0x1FF18)!
10:04:17.625 : Checking PCB serial number...
10:04:17.625 : Error on PCB serial data check: footer PCB sn not found (will be automatically fixed) (0x1FF3E)!
10:04:17.640 : Error on PCB serial data check: PCB sn data looks incomplete 'ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ' (0x1FF2C)!
10:04:17.640 : Found those problems in dummy.bin (read above): OPT sn data looks incomplete, footer PCB sn not found,PCB sn data looks incomplete

Did you have a chance to see the results with the new JF, it is still "making wrong complete serial info" inside the dummy? Thanks in advance for your time and support

I am having the same problem as a few of the first posts.

Made a Dummy.bin with JungleFlasher (tried both 0.026 & 0.1.51) out of my backed up identify|inquriy|key.
Loaded it into DSDBFixer and the OPT and PCB where just wrong YYY etc.

The dvd key was correct (extracte with DVDKey32) but needed to fill in the OPT PCB and the end of the DVD label for some reason (couldn't add the whole dvd label as no room - one character at end missing then)

Saved as a new dummy file and merged it with the latest ixtreme 1.51 liteon with JungleFlasher.

Did the erase (L-O-Erase) and write (dosflash) in Dos and that goes perfectly.
But when put together the xbox will only read any media as "Play DVD", tried a DVD movie and that played fine just no games.

So stuck on whats going on and not working at all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Dunno if a weird thing but both the old and new fixed dummy files in a hex util (hex32 | XVI31) show as all 00's

Sadly this is my only LiteOn Drive

Hi Giampy

Excellent work! I aim to patch up my ill-formed dummy.bin and reflash, but before I do can I just ask a potentially dense question....

Could we just use any serials that fit the format e.g.

OPT = 12341234123412XX
PCB = S4P823123123123123

Surely they don't read these back when you sign into XBL and cross-reference these and the other serials against each other? I'd be surprised if they even checked to see if 12341234123412XX is a valid serial on its own.

Anyway, I don't  mean to detract from the great find, and the great follow up work.

Cheers

What happens with the 17th digit of the dvdlabel? I mean, in my drive label that digit is "K", but when I dump it with the extractor and I check it with an hex editor, this digit is changed to "1". I've read that this digit may not be important, because it seemed to be 0 or 1 on all drives. Certainly it's not the case, as my drive has a K digit on it.

My question is if I should flash my drive using my digit (K) or the default (1) in the 1.51 ixtreme firmware. What should be safer in the future for no-banning purposes?

The rest of the dump data is correct (string serials, dvdkey, inquiry, etc)...

Hey thanks for this great app! Except I have one problem, All I have left over from my dump was my SAM_CFW.BIN (spoofed as lite on bcz drive smoked) Is it possible for me to rebuild my drive serial? My drive serial is currently blank when I load my SAM_CFW.bin in JF. I really would like to play on live that's why.
