I took some screen shots of what my dummy.bin looks like so you guys can see and maybe it can help.

Here is what my original dummy.bin look like.

btw yes i know this is vista what the snapshots are in, but not I'm not trying to use that to write or read firmware. I got 32bit xp install on another hd i been using. Shoot back ideas if u guys see something.

what does it mean error on pcb sn data looks incomplete?is that bad
coz iv already flashed the ix firmware to liteon drive and works perfect, just trying this proggy out with files i have?by the way i made the dummy with firmware tool loading the 3 dumped files coz i forgot to save dummy but kept rest!!

@ joe9000: Look at this, drive serial info

@xatrix123: does your key (in DSDBFixer) is the same as your key.bin (hex edit it to view your key)? did your dvd work with a previous flash or is this your first flash for this drive?

first flash of liteon drive,works perfect playing dvds and backups,made several key extractions using maximus xtractor tool and spear with xtractor proggy and jungleflasher!!key always came out the same no probs.my first liteon xtraction doing exactly same way passes ur checks but this 1 does not,the only difference is i made the dummy that fails loading 3 files into firmtool 32 ,and on my dummy dvdkey32 made and opened dummy as source and thats the 1 that passes.didnt know if it was because of the way i did it fails on ur proggy!!but everything still works ok,just wanted to know if this could be a serious problem or not!!

I always save the log files from JF. Could you make it possible in futher version to just copy the string from the logfile into the program?

maybe this is an idea, maybe can you put this tool in jungleflasher, so that jf can check the serial data automatically.

any news about 20 chars pcb serial dump? i noticed that dummuygen replace this area with 20 Xs (if missing).

moreover is possible to know when the last digit of the serial number should be 1 or 0, or is it just irrelevant?

OK, meanwhile you can do it right clicking with the mouse and selecting paste.

Good questions.
No jack, can't find anyone with a 20 chars PCB serial, or at least anyone that, with this serial, has checked his labels, so no info for me...i'm curious too.
Actually, i don't know the precise meaning of 0/1 at the end of the sn,may be a kind of crc,as soon as i find it,i'll put also this info in the app. The its relevance is the same of the other serial data: for someone may be vital (in future to prevent ban), for some other may not be a big problem.

can your drive play dvd video or reject any media?

I don't have a regular movie laying around to test, all i got is iso stuff, I do got a original 360 game though that doesn't work. Does that key.bin look right? i can also post any other pictures if needed to get this problem fix

BTW i also have a benq drive lying around im not using at the moment. Do you think i should try to spoof it with my liteon on firmware to see if that works? Im starting to think one of those files 4 key files are messed up or something because i been working on this problem for like 4 days now.

The key is in the right place,i can't know if it's correct or not, it depends on the dump.
Play dvd video doesn't require the use of the dvdkey,viceversa,to play any game (original or backup) the drive need the correct key cause data from the dvd is crypted using the dvdkey and the box decrypt it using the same dvdkey, if the keys don't match the game can't be played.
So, if u can try with a dvd video (from friends or neighborhood...) you can rapidly find if your dvd is ok and the key is wrong(it play dvd video), or if the dvd was "locked" (improper) due to the wrong flash of the dummy.bin directly to the dvd unit instead of the ix.bin spoofed file (it doesn't play dvd video).
You can try to spoof to your benq,but first be sure to dump its data e BE SURE that those data are correct (in case you will need it), if even the benq doesn't work...then the only problem is the key...hope it's not so bad!

can someone explain what "dummy.bin" is? and how to find it and make it?

is it possible to flash liteon only with sata cabel? if i use your program, Drive Serial Dummy.Bin Fixer, is it not necessary to use ck3, just the sata cabel?
