Lite-on Problems, Ive Ran Out Of Ideas...
« on: January 24, 2009, 01:57:00 PM »

Hey Guys,
I recently purchased a 360 as I had read how the new lite-on drives were no
longer un-hackable.. I quickly read up what i could and ordered the ck3 pro + probe.
My first attempts failed at key extraction but after some power cycles i was
able to dump my bin files using ck3 tool. I was unable to locate my drive with
jungleflasher.. At this point i created my spoof cfw using jf, thought the worst was behind me, i was wrong..

The only tools capable of flashing the drive are jungleflash and dosflash but neither of these
are detecting any SATA ports on my cpu, i have a nforce 680i mobo with 4 sata ports but
the programs are only showing IDE ports, despite me never using IDE on this cpu before..
Unable to progress with JF i turned to dosflash but the auto mode ie. typing dosflash in dos
it says " no atapi devices present " and only lists the IDE. I continued reading tutorials and forums
but couldnt find anything new to try, then i read about dosflash manual, so i got my correct port and com from ck3 tools and booted to my usb dos, using l-o-eras 0970(my sata port) i got FF80 a few times but after a power cycle or 2
i got ff72 which means it has been erased, i rebooted to dos and tried using dosflash again for writing the new fw but as usual it gave me " no atapi devices present " and showed only my ide's. i read how to flash the drive manually in dosflash and tried typing out the command in dos "dosflash w 0970 1 ao 1 4 c:lite_cfw.bin" but this only brings up the dosflash menu!.. also i checked my bios and the drive is no longer there, plus it will not eject anymore which confirms its been erased,
so here i am now with a drive that wont show at all in windows anymore, or bios. ive tried changing ports countless times, removing any additional sata ports but still jungleflasher and dosflash are only showing up
IDE and manually typing in the write command for the neew fw with dosflash does nothing so im totally out of ideas..

Sorry for the excess bs but its very frustrating for me as ive been at this over a week now,
any ideas at all would be mega appreciated. Im sorry for having to start a new post but im at
my wits ends and im really hoping someone out there can help..

To flash with dosflash you type dosflash and press enter, then select your drive number from the list, press W and then type the name of the firmware and press enter. If you get "unknown flash chip" resend the command. If you having issues detecting the drive set it to master if its currently on slave.

im booting to my usb dos, if i type dosflash it lists 4 ide ports
all of which have no device present and says underneath "no atapi devices present"
im using the sata cable which was sata port no. 1, is normally used for my dvdrom so it should
be master, ive tried using the sata ports which are being used for my hdd but no change, its the same with jungleflash and dosflash32 in windows.. my cpu is only 6 mnths old, i dont think it even has IDE slots so im very confued, is it a windows setting? at this point windows completely freezes if i turn my ck3 on..

Go into your computer BIOS and make sure the SATA settings are not set to RAID.

i have access to a Hitachi gdr-3120L drive from another red ringed 360, would it be best to try and replace these since i have my original .bin's from the lite-on? and if so do i need to un-flash the hitachi first?

does your MB BIOS have settings related to "enhanced" or "compatible" or "disabled" for the ATA/IDE config? if so set it to compatible or disabled. to get it to work for ke I then had to set legacy ide to SATA only and it worked like a charm. now I know you BIOS may not have these setting but this is what made it work for me....

haha, I forgot, I had a 680i MB that I used to use and now it is in my son's PC...  disable the "OnChip IDE channel" completely and disable all other SATA channels other than the one you have your XBox drive attached too.  it is a pain but that is what I had to do on that board when I was using it (before i swapped out for a more simple MB in my test rig).

now I have an A$U$ P5KPL cheapo with a VIA card and it works like a champ.
