How To Flash A Liteon For Dummies The Im-rick-james-b1tch Method

Your drive is missing serial information if you used maximus to obtain your 3 files. You should have used either dosflash/jungle flash to generate all 4 files!

No you have flashed your drive I belive it is too late. Try generating dummy.bin and making your spoofed firmware using jungle flash again. (not firmtool) Does the same job mind. But give it a go. Then boot into DOS and use dosflash 1.7 This has specific liteon commands your going to want to do liteon e to erase the drive. Followed by w hacked.bin to write the new firmware.
Give it a go:)

Your e-64 will probly be down to a bad flash.

If your drive doesnt eject it most likley means its still erased or you flashed the wrong firmware to the drive.

when i try to erase the firmware in DOS i get the error

c:\>L-O-ERAS.EXE SATAPORT
error: invalid ATA command block base register

I did have to unplug my hard drives because no matter what I tried to do it would not boot from my thumb stick when booting from USB.

you need to replace SATAPORT with your actual sataport number. (e.g. ff00)

Yeah it was fe90 but the problem was that the drive died for some reason.  i got that fixed and flashed the new one in windows but now i get the please insert the game into a xbox 360 console to play like the console is now just a dvd player with both original and burned games.  Im guessing i needed to spoof the drive instead of just flashing it.

I can not thank you enough for this guide. It was so straightforward to use.

I made a bootable floppy instead of a USB/CD because my bios didn't like the USB, and the CD - I wasn't too sure how to do correctly.

The floppy worked fine. biggrin.gif

Thanks a lot!

Heeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppppppppp !!!!!!!!!!!!

finally xtractro red the key
(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%207-52-30%20PM.jpg)

i I follow your explanation

QUOTE
DOING THE COMPARE
1> Now we will compare the 2 sets of files created with the 2 different applications.
On your c drive you should see the following:
Identify-DVDKey.bin
Inquiry- DVDKey.bin
Key- DVDKey.bin
Identify-Xtractor.bin
Inquiry-Xtractor.bin
Key-Xtractor.bin
Now open a command prompt window and navigate to the c drive by typing “cd \”
Then type the following:
“fc.exe /b Identify-DVDKey.bin Identify-Xtractor.bin” and press enter.
“fc.exe /b Inquiry-DVDKey.bin Inquiry-Xtractor.bin” and press enter.
“fc.exe /b Key-DVDKey.bin Key-Xtractor.bin” and press enter.
This should be the results.

but nothing happened
(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%208-01-32%20PM.jpg)

so i used the XtractorReader_V27

(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%208-18-33%20PM.jpg)

(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%208-23-24%20PM.jpg)

and finally i get this file
(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%208-28-41%20PM.jpg)

I set all those the files  in a floppy disk
(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%208-34-54%20PM.jpg)

and i started with this steps as you have written

A:\>L-O-ERAS 8C00

QUOTE
ERASING THE FIRMWARE
1> Create a bootable flash drive or bootable cd and copy the following files onto the root of the drive/cd:
-L-O-ERAS.EXE
-DosFlash.typ
-DosFlash.exe
- and the prepared lite-on iXtreme firmware.
3> Reboot your machine and leave everything plugged in then boot to the flashdrive/cd.
4> Browse to the root of the drive/cd and type the following: “L-O-ERAS.EXE SATAPORT” and press enter. The result you looking for is XX72 eg: FF72. When you get xx72 it means the firmware has been erased.
Some people have issues with this step and saying the sent the command a 100 times with no xx72. If you have sent it 10 times with no xx72 then disconnect power to the drive, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect the power to the drive. Now resent the “L-O-ERAS.EXE SATAPORT” command another 10 times or until you get xx72.

I get this message FF72

But when i tried with DosFlash.exe

and my sata drive was nr:6    and next to the wrote  (( 0X8C00 SATA ATAPI NO Identifity possible  ))

and could not flash it

NOW i can not eject the  Xbox 360 drive with  XTRACTOR
AND  XtractorReader_V27 again can not find it

(IMG:http://hawar.jeeran.com/saqr/xbox%20360/1-28-2009%208-50-08%20PM.jpg)

what should I do??????????  pleassssssssss  hellllllllllllllllllllppppp

Where is the Inquiry-Xtractor.bin in that folder??

You typed "Inquiry-DVDKEY.bin" when your file name is "Inquiry- DVDKey.bin"

Also, I would follow the guide, using the root of the C drive.

I think that your drive is no longer ejecting because there is no working firmware on it. I don't think you have  followed instructions on how to 'PREPARE THE FIRMWARE'.

Edit: Hope that your Key is correct - as you've erased the drive. Also you seem to not have any key etc by using xtractor, only DVDKey - so you have nothing to compare with.

Good luck!

now  dosflash givme this message

6) 0x8c00 sata pri master atapi no identofity possible
flash Manufacturerer ID: 0xEF, Device ID: 0XFF
   Flash type :unknown
Flash size :0 bytes (0 kb)

in Windows

when i power on the Xtractor  the copmuter freezers

Now How i return the xbox drive  to the original firmware???????

QUOTE
WRITING THE FIRMWARE
Once erased type the following:
1> “Dosflash.exe” and press enter.
2> Select your drive number from the list (mine was 4) and press enter.
3> Type “W“ and press enter.
4> Type the name of your prepared firmware and press enter.
If you get an error about “unknown flash chip” then start from step 1 of writing the firmware again. If you still get the error then disconnect power to the drive, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect the power….Then from step 1 of writing the firmware again…

in step 4  do  you mean  the Dummy.bin  created by DVDKey32   or    ixtreme_1.5 firmware ?????????

when  ixtreme_1.5 firmware   to use it ?????????????

A a guess to your DosFlash error - I think that you have selected the wrong SATA or COM port - but im not sure.

I used the Xecutor Connectivity Kit V3 so I can not comment on the xtractor freezing in windows - though you may not have installed the right drivers, maybe?

You CAN NOT return the Lite-On to the original firmware. The process ERASES the firmware, you prepare the ixtreme 1.5 firmware with your key, which replaces the original firmware you have already erased.

C4eva has not released the original firmware for the Lite-On, so you cannot restore it as of it. So you will HAVE to write ixtreme 1.5 to the Lite-On drive if you want it to be functional ever again.

In step 4 you want the PREPARED firmware from DVDKEY32 - you don't want to write the original ixtreme 1.5 firmware as it doesn't contain your drive key.

I'd just like to say thanks for a fantastic tutorial.  It worked for me first time, not a single problem.  I did read up on flashing the drive before I attempted this, just incase I hit any problems.

Many thanks.  biggrin.gif
