Sorry for my newbness, I have searched and researched for hours but want to avoid bricking.

Is the method for flashing an older v59 the same as the "smart hack" method for a v78?

Anyone can walk me through a v59 with toolbox or point to a tutorial?

They are easy, much easier than a 78 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) All you have to do is copy the folder to the root of your c drive and run the flash ix bat file (knowing the drive letter of course). You can do em with a usb to sata adapter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) You should have a read of "textbooks guide to flashing the xbox 360 for noobs" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Ok I tried the other method with IXtreme but can get nothing to work.

My drive is in mode B and recognized by my computer. I was able to do a raw dump and create an original.bin file.

Does anyone have a method to use Toolbox to flash a 59 at that point?

I have the original file open, and the method for a 78 is to do the smart hack patch, which does not work. Can anyone walk me through how to flash firmware onto a 59 with toolbox?

Need a 360 Toolbox expert. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

If anyone is reading this in a search trying to figure to use toolbox to flash a pre 78 or 79 series Hitachi, I finally figured out my issues and wrote a lame tutorial
