Problems Getting My Liteon Key
« on: January 13, 2009, 02:33:00 PM »

Hi there.

Jungleflasher keeps saying: "Warning: The key looks bad" or something.

Then it says that the key is 0000000000000000000000000.

I've tried with the drive half way in 5-6 times now in different spots, but it keeps saying the same.

I'm using CK3 pro and vista.

Does an1 know why?

Thnx

1> Is your drive even dectected in windows? (use Xtractor Reader to check)
2> Are you using the usb cable or serial cable to the com port?
3> What sata chipset are you using?
4> Have you tried DvdKey32?

Hey there,

I've had the same problems with the 0000 key warning.
The trick is to manually put the tray half back in, then turn the ck3 off and on again.
When the ck3 is on you can dump the key.

Good luck

Ahh, thanks a million raziel, i had totally forgotten about the power cycle.

I've now succesfully dumped the key.

Now, I've bumped into the next problem. When i go to "MTK flash 32" and hit the "erase" button, it says "be patient you padawan". I've then tried the "Device ID" button and power-cycled it, but then I get the following:

Sending Vendor Intro to port 0xE800
Invalid Status
Re-sending Vendor Intro:
................................................................................
Device Intro failed!

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance to all of you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hit Liteon erase.  Click yes once.  Power cycle the liteon drive within one second, and then immediately press yes again.  Worked for me anyways.  I would recommend doing it with DosFlash though.

Hi

New to this... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Having some trouble getting the key. I think the only roadbloack is the damn tray status is "Opening", shouldn't it say "Open Tray" meaning it thinks the drive is closed?

I've tried x different "solutions", and x different "tutorials".

- Xbox/drive powered on, hit eject, hit eject once more while unplugging power cable to drive. Then insert power cable again and try to get key.

- Xbox/drive powered on, hit eject, manually push drive halfway back. Try to get key.

- Xbox/drive powered on, hit eject, unplugging power cable, manually push tray halfway back. Then insert power cable again and try to get key.

This is just a few of the things i've tried, and i've never got the Xbox status to say "Open Tray" while the tray is halfway open..

Can anyone give a detailed guide on how to get the tray in right position with the right status ? I would appreciate this very very much.

Details :
- Using rs232/rs3232 thingy.
- To solder we used this guide : http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/X...D2S_Extract_Key
- We've been using DvdKey32 v0.7 and XP. Comes out 00000000000 when trying to get the key.

If something else can be wrong, please do elaborate.

Thanks in advance  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I wrote a guide for using DOS instead of windows which worked for me as jungle flash failed.
PDF URL: http://sn.im/liteon-dos-jt1
Give that a check out, for your drive tray you need to eject it turn the dvddrive power off, close it half way then power it back on. Getting a bad key could be down to VIA driver confilict (unitstall these), missin port32 I/O drivers, bad TxD connection to r707, wrong COM port selected! Your key is retrieved over COM where your identify and inquiry is retrieved over SATA.

ok, so now i'm able to get the status to "Open Tray", whilst i have it halfway open. But this is by using SATA cable from Xbox, and then afterwards connect it back to PC SATA. Is this the correct method ? But i'm still not getting any key...

I'll try on/off with drive and moving the tray between each time.

Please give a heads up if something else should be done...

Thanks

(Tried getting key from dosflash, it found the drive, but wouldn't find the drive when i hit the number on the left hand side)....

As stated in the pdf, take a note of the sata port looks something like 0xffcc etc. then run dvdkey ffcc if this suceeeds go back to dosflash without removing your r707 connection and it should do the trick or it did for myself and somone else the other day!

What do you mean by it didnt work also. After the key what did it do? it might sound daft you are using a ps/2 keyboard right? USB ones wont be detected. Also use serial instead of USB in dosflash!

We can find the SATA port, it's 09F0, and it shows the correct drive (Liteon). Then we choose "no" on the next option. But when we try this :
"Type the number that represents your LiteOn drive & press return. Take note of the port
number." <-- We choose the number "6", since this is the one with Liteon drive. This doesn't work. Some kind of error appears.

We've also tried dvdkey16 with "dvdkey 09F0", returned bad.

The problem is we can't get the key. The keyboard is working in DOS, ps/2 keyboard right.

We are using Serial -> Serial connection to rs232.

Please ask if it's information missing, thanks.

Are you trying to dump the key? Or are you trying to Flash the drive?

"Some kind of error" isn't gonna help you or us help you. Details man details. Did it say "Flash Chip Unknown" or what?

Sorry if it wasn't clear, but im trying to dump the key. "Get the key" =)

I havn't got the error message, but when i type in number "6", it says something like it didn't find the drive. I will give it ago again in a couple of hours and bring back the correct message.

Another thing; I have soldered R707 AND R708. The tutorial says you only need to solder R707, but does it mean you must NOT solder R708, or no difference ?

If there is any more details I can give, give a wink.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks.
