Mystic Liteon Drive
« on: January 04, 2009, 11:25:00 AM »

Hi 2 All. I don’t know what’s happening with my Liteon drive. It seems to be a mystic. So the drive doesn’t  work after successful flashing (successful?).  I’ve got 3 cheap game disks (I mean not licensed). And these disks are not running!!! I don’t know why? I conditionally call disk 1,2,3. For example, disk 1 is inserted. On the screen I see ”unsupported disk” (exactly like before flashing with hacked f/w). When disk 2 or 3 are inserted I see “bla bla  bla put it in an xbox console” (exactly like before flashing too). I don’t understand the reason! 4-5 days before I’ve flashed another Liteon and everything was be OK. I did it exactly the same like with that “mystic” drive. In addition today I’ve tried to flash next Liteon (from another console). And result is just the same – it doesn’t work!!!
Now I’ll try to explain about my flashing process. For key extraction I use Dvdkey in dos mode. For hardware part I use serial adapter with max3232 transceiver   http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/X...D2S_Extract_Key .  The correct port number I find with dosflash method. And Dvdkey is finding the key without any problems (bla  bla  “seems a GOOD key”). After that I use Jungle Flasher (I click on “Liteon erase”, then I choose my key files, open target fw (ix15-liteon.bin), click on “Spoof source to target”, then – “Save to file”, and I’m saving to CFW.bin. After that I click on “Write”. And I see in status window that writing and verifying OK. Then I plug in the drive to Xbox. And finally it does’t work! I’m in full despair. I tried to flash the drive in dos mode. The result is just the same…
   Here are my suppositions:
1)Maybe Dvdkey extracts a wrong key?
2)Maybe power supply unit is compatible with unique Xbox console? (I use PS unit of another console)
3)Maybe all the 3 disks are bad? But I think that its barely possible…

Any ideas? Help me!!! If necessary I can publish my Jungle Flasher log.

Ok mate, does it play originals or a dvd? If thats the case you can rule out number 1.. Im not sure but I thought if it had the wrong key it would'nt even get to the dashboard and gives an E error..

Are retail game disks working after you flash? If not then you have the wrong drive keys and this could only mean bricked consoles since you did not get good dump of the keys before flashing.

I'll try to test with original games tomorrow... Its strange I've flashed first drive (4-5 days earlier) successfully. Tomorrow the sutiation wil be clear I hope.  But I'm afraid now that if the extracted keys were wrong the two consoles will become a useless carbage... Is it true???

You said you did two of them, maybe you mixed up the drives?Try switching them around?
You should use the power unit that goes with the box, they have 3 versions and some wont work with others.
If all types of disk work but not games (original or backup) it's a key issue.
If you saved the .bins, maybe re-attempt?

I think you have dumped the keys ok, but not payed attention when selecting the fw to flash to the drive and have flashed the exact same to all 3.
Try all the drives in the first 360 I suspect they will all work fine in that one.

The drive is not mystic you are just a bit dumb (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

   No... It cannot be.

Its barely possible. I'm not a novice in console modding.. I work as technician specialist in computer firm. And several years I modified not only older version Xbox360, but PS2, PSP, Wii. But I dont think that I'm the best. Thats why I really need your help, guys. After flashing each drive I always copy key files and modified fw in unique folder. After saving I delete the files from work directory.

Its me again! Today I've tested my 2 Liteon flashed drives with original (licensed) game (Spiderman). And this original disk is running fine with both consoles. It becomes more mystic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
  Here are my guesses:
1) My extracted keys are right. And flashing process is OK.
2) All the three my non-original disks are bad. I dont believe yet...
3) My custom firmware (based on hacked fw) with my correct files (key inquiry identify) was created with errors. Is the JF bug?
I stiil dont know what is it means...
Your guesses?????

1) Keys are right, otherwise it would not play originals

2) Disk 1 is definitely bad. Otherwise you'd get the "please insert disk into a 360..." message.

I'd remake the FW and flash again. Also, I'd check those disks in another 360.

55AA...... is the dvd key before spoofing. After it key is right.
But I think that JF creates dummy.bin (after adding key files) incorrectly.
