Ts-h943 Bad Flash
« on: January 03, 2009, 01:45:00 PM »

Hey guys.  Recently tried flashing a TS-H943 using iprep008 beta. (I believe that is what it was.  I know it was beta though) I can't tell you what exactly what went wrong, but I screwed something up, although not before getting a backup or the original bin.

I tried flashing the original bin back on and the 360 will boot to the main menu.  I can put a DVD in and it loads and plays fine.  If I put an original game in, it comes up with a white screen asking me to place a proper XBOX 360 disc in.  I've tried multiple original discs with all resulting in the same screen.

I've read something about having to extract the original key from the bin, etc., etc., but then the instructions never pan out.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?  Any sort of tutorial/instructions would be fantastic.

Thanks

seems like you possibly flashed an ixtreme file without your dvd key... which ixtreme package did you download? as long as you are positive that the orig.bin or sam-ofw.bin is valid with the key from your drive, you still have hope...

there are tutorials in the pinned threads at the top of this sub-forum section.

I was using iXtreme 1.4.  I had previously flashed a BenQ without issue, but too be honest I was following the steps for the BenQ when flashing the TS-h943 without paying attention to what I was doing.  I used iPrep_101-008beta (I think.  Just know it was a beta)

I'm fairly certain I did get a proper backup though.  I was following the textbook tutorial and it gets you to make a backup first.  So I do have a file named Orig.bin.

I've read through quite a bit, but to be honest I'm just really confused at this point.  Would you be able to post a link to the sticky I should be looking in?

Thanks again.

when it comes to ms25 drives, textbooks guide is the best guide to use...

i suggest comparing the keys of your orig.bin and hacked.bin with fwtoolbox. if the keys are different, you have found your issue and you need to insert the key from the orig.bin into the ixtreme 1.4 fw file you want to use(or grab ix1.5 and use that since it is now available). save the new firmware as hacked.bin onto your bootable disk and then flash that hacked.bin file to the sammy. you can do all of that except the flash process with fwtoolbox.

good luck!
