Dosflash 1.7 Beta Or Jungleflash
« on: December 28, 2008, 01:27:00 PM »

What do you think is the best way Dosflash or Jungleflasher?

And i have a VIA 6421 Card and i have NO onboard SATA.

I have tried the tutorial for flashing with VIA 6421 with Jungleflash but at the start you have to delete the drivers etc etc, but im having the same problem as most people are, the drivers just come back and i deleted the driver in system32/drivers aswell.

But anyway like i sais which is the best way to go dos or jungle?

works like a charm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I've flashed 3 in windows and 8 in DOS, I always try windows first since i find it easier to dump the key in windows.
Too bad it freeses when I try to flash it, so instead of booting windows again, i boot DOS and use dosflash.
Works great

I used  JF and it was a piece of cake. Even didn't need to remove the via-drivers.

So, does this mean I can conclude that having flashed my Lite-on with JF under windows doesnt mean that I all always will suceed in doing this with JF in windows???
I ask this because you have modded 3 in Windows and then 8 in Dos. So it didnt always succeed in Win?
Were they all Lite-ons, those 11 drives?

all lite-ons yes,

There are hickups when you try to flash with a VIA chipset, windows freezes this happened to me 8 times, therefore rebooted and flashed in DOS since that's the quickest solution instead of having to reboot into windows (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

At what stage does that problem occur? Those hickups.

So I need to have a good dos tutorial as well.
You know any?

So when you say there a hickup to flash with a VIA chipset in windows, what about when you do it via DosFlash do you also connect it to you VIA chipset when doing it with Dos aswell, meening basically with a VIA chip set in windows its poo and freezes when done in DosFlash connected to VIA chipset it works like a treat?

Let me know buddy because as soon as my CK3 + Probe comes im gunna give it a try, i meen i like dosflash its deffo the way to go i use it doing Sam/Benq works like a treat.

But i dont have an onboard SATA so my only option is to connect it to my VIA Chipset that i use for Sam/Benq and hopefully LiteOn if it works?

I have VIA chipset to and windows is freezing when i open jungleflasher..
I followed this dosflash guide
I've tryed using dosflash and I always get invalig key, SECTION 2-10.
Can someone help me with this? I dont fully understand the hole section..
Should the probe be on r707 before i turn on my computere and all the time? I dont know if i got the right com port... Should the light be blue or red (the MODE)?

Is it any better guides out there?
And maby a better usb boot loader? (i use iprep v.008)

I use my own batch files which use DOSFLASH and FIRMTOOL in DOS.  Can flash a BenQ or LiteOn quicker than Windows can even boot up!

The only drive that requires Windows is Hitachi and I bricked one because of Windows BSOD while flashing, don't mess with Bill's toys...

Love DOS and Dosflash works fine with me on BenQ/LiteOn.... (I use MTKFlash than Dosflash with Sammy).

Try one time before with JF, Windows freeze all the time when you erase LiteOn, I even can not boot to Windows to flash LiteOn....so use DOS instead.

yeah I've never had windows freeze on me while erasing liteon f/w or writing f/w.  I have a via chipset too. So, I have always used j/f in windows 32bit environment. Did like 10 so far.

Dosflash for me. Tried to do my liteon in windows.. freezes, hangups, and the system was pretty much stuffed even after i removed the portio drivers, needing a reinstall of windows. jf half-erased my liteon then crapped out. once i used dosflash, i was done in minutes.
