Stuff I Need To Buy?

Yeah, I would also recommend that you let someone that really knows how to modify an Xbox 360 do it for you.

If you don't know what to do, then you will probably brick that console. Don't take this the wrong way, but since you didn't know what a molex connector was, then you thought you got it but didn't think you could have your computer running at the same time as powering the drive, you probably won't be able to follow the tutorial correctly.

We're not insulting you, we just don't want you to brick that console just because you wasn't really sure about what you were doing.

My bad. You connect your drive to the CK3 with the included power cable. Then connect the CK3 to a free molex connector. wink.gif

Edit: If you want to make modding your drive easy on you, then you only need to buy two things.
1. Xecuter Connectivity Kit v3 Pro
2. Xecuter Probe

That's it.

Then yes, you will need a Sata card too. Google for 'via chipset xbox 360' and you'll find the card you need.

does it have to be ck3 pro, can I use a ck3 lite?

Yes, you can, but then you will also need to buy a sata cable and a "special" usb cable. The Pro also includes an HDD adapter, which allows you to backup your savegames to your computer.

No, but to dump the key.

Haven't you read up on anything? Start by reading some tutorials on how to connect and flash with the CK3!

Can't someone close this thread already?

ok, last question: once I dump the keys, can i use the 360's lite-on power supply cable to power the lite-on, and still flash it while the drive is connected to the pc using a sata port?

I think its absolutely incredible that you just asked this question AGAIN. Everyone just went through the motions of explaining that you will have everything you need if you buy the CK3 + probe, yet there seems to be a missing piece of the puzzle for you.
Just because I find it funny, I'm gunna try my hand at settling this!

You say you intend to buy the CK3 and probe.
The Connection Kit is intended to power your lite-on through a spare internal molex power connection from your pc. If you don't have a spare, then disconnect something like your dvdrom.
The part you just aren't getting is... if you manage to dump your keys from the drive, that would mean you have already connected power to it. So... that would mean... as long as you don't touch anything... you will still have power going to the lite-on for the flashing step. Magic!
The only reason you would use your 360 to power the drive is if you do not want to buy the CK3 kit. Meaning you will not have a nice adapter and would need to use the 360 pretty much as a power supply for the time being.

Funny thing here is...I'm 100% noob right now. I just got my box today and have been reading for the last couple days, and I can explain this. I'm going to get the elite360 probe and THATS IT. I don't mind using the 360 to power it for now and I have a nice native onboard sata on an intel board. That tutorial video on the elite360 site looks incredibly simple.
