The thing is, I've a benq flashed to ixtreme 1.41

Now do I have to get my original firmware and use firmtool to make it ixtreme 1.5?

or can I just use the ixtreme 1.5 benq firmware that comes already in the downloaded files?

Please reply ASAP because I wana play 360 biggrin.gif

JungleFlasher when pressed Lite-On-Erase it at the end of an error, but the drive Firmware removed.
Now if it connect to the PC, all hangs in the DOS can not be determined. How to return him back original Firmware? Mtkflash? or Firmtool?

To all the guys who worked on this, I want you to imagine the faces of M$ Engineers and the people who designed this DVD-ROM to be "UNHACKABLE", imagine their faces when the get the email from co-workers who lurk the scene, and then imagine their faces when they open this site and read this forum
IT HAS BEEN DONE BITCHES

Can I just update my drive (BenQ 1.41) with the new 1.5, like I did from the orginial firmware to 1.41? Or is there a special way?

My way: Making a usb stick bootable with iPrep, and then dump/hack/flash it.

And what's new for the non-LiteOn users? And is it usefull to update to 1.5? Or if 1.41 worked OK, I don't have to switch?

Im afraid JungleFlasher has just bricked my drive... Merry christmas to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

After Pressing Lite-On Erase, i found out that of some reasen the text field at the bottom, was bigger than the program window. So i could not read the last lines in the text field, meaning that i had no idea of when to power cycle. So when i couldnt do anything i tried to close the program, but the program froze. Now i cant get any respond from the drive at all.

Im on windows XP, and by the way has anyone else had the problem of Jungleflasher freezing every other time?

I am currently using 1.41 in my BENQ as well...and I don't think I will upgrade.

But I will provide you some insight, I upgraded my BENQ from like 1.4 IXtreme to IXtreme 1.41 in the past....and you do it just like you normally would.  Reason it works like that is because the only thing it needs from your previous firmware is the KEY, which is obviously in the firmware you are currently using on your drive or it wouldn't work.  So it just extracts the key from your 1.41 just as it would from factory firmware...then uses that key in your new 1.5fw.

So yes...unless something has changed that I am not aware of...you can flash/overwrite your old firmware with the new one just like you did when you went from original to hacked fw.

Thanks, but I tried to load the new 1.5 firmware in iPrep, and it says "Not valid firmware" (or something).
So I can't use iPrep anymore...

That's interesting...I haven't even attempted to try the 1.5fw yet...I assume iPrep may need a minor update then.  My 1.41 has been going strong for a long time.  I don't think I will change.

May I ask why not to update? And if iPrep get a update, will it work the same way as before(from original to 1.41)? So the main thing is the same, only another file?
