thanks a lot team jungle! and merry christmas to all of you!

It was impossible to get DVDKey32_v0.7 to work in Win2k on a MSI K8N Neo2 motherboard with a AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+. I used the onboard SATA from Nforce3 chipset and all i got in DVDKey32 were zeros (in Indentify, Inquiry & Key everything were 0). Tried just about everything (mostly different booting sequenses). This is strange because DVDkey_V1.2 workes just great on this computer under DOS.

But when i switched to another computer with WinXP and a VIA6421A it worked just great again!

Then i flashed using the first computer (MSI K8N) in DOS and no problems there! Had to run L-O-Eras.EXE a few times and reboot once, but then it worked like a charm.

I would realy like to see a new version of DVDKey for DOS which creates a dummy.bin, but it workes just fine as it is right now.

By the way, I can't flash BenQ with the MSI K8N ether, even when I use a VIA6421A. But the same VIA6421A flashes BenQ just fine when used in the other computer (P3 700Mhz Asus CUV4X).

So just let me get this straight......sorry but i'm allways nervous.

Got the Key and everything so it's just flashing for me.

1. I put l-o-eras.exe and dosflash.exe on my bootable USB. With the hacked .bin file which i created in Djungle Flash.

2. I typ, in DOS, l-o-eras.exe E800 (E800 being my port on my VIA chip). This should return med Status 72?

My friend gor Status FF72, is its good also?

Then i switch off switch on

3. After I get Status 72 i typ dosflash.exe. It should find something on my E800 port?

Does it do like with BenQ? Ask for Y/N? Is just to type Y? Or should i Switch Off/On? What if it get's stuck after that?

Sorry for maybe asking to much, can anyone write a more detalied DOS guide?

FF72 is good

If your drive freezes using Jungletool do this:

1) Make a dos boot disk
2)Copy the insides of the 'dos' folder in Ixtreme 1.5
3)Copy your newly made Ixtreme 1.5 file with your own key inserted to it (rename it IX15.bin for ease)
4) Make sure 'l-o-eras.exe' is in there
5)Boot to dos
6)Type 'l-o-eras.exe' followed by the port number you're using. In my case I wrote 'l-o-eras.exe EC00'

EC00 being my port number

7)Keep retrying untill you get a 'FF72' status after the command
8 ) FF72 = Fully erased drive
9)Type 'Dosflash'
10) Should talk some stuff about MTK Vendors and should find any dvd drives present.
11) Keep pressing 'N' untill you come across your Lite-on (Mine was listed as Unknown Drive on port EC00)
12) Press 'Y' when you get to your Lite-on.
13) It should come up saying a number of options talking about 'W for write' , E for Erase etc.
14) Type 'LITEON W'
15) Should come up saying 'Type the file name of the bin you want to flash'
16) Type 'IX15.bin'
17) Wait and it should flash 4 banks (might say erase again aswell)
18 )Wait for a data checksum

just flashed my ben-q using dosflash/firmtool and everything went good. first thing i did was check the claims that benq reading is improved by putting in my formerly unplayable gta4 disc. on my hitachi box gta4 is flawless. when i got the benq i found i couldnt drive 3 blocks in a fast car without the road/cars vanishing...with 1.5 the road stays put, but the buildings are still low detail until i stop the car for about 5-10 seconds and the higher res textures pop in. overall its quite an improvement for me though. at least ill be able to check out the dlc when it hits now smile.gif

thanks c4e/team

You forgot a step after step #8, POWER CYCLE after erasing your liteon.

Sorry about the off topic or bad question. I am new to this hacking thing but I have researched alot in the past few days for the lite on drive. Where can I get the ixtreme 1.5 firmware? The first page says not available.

Thanks

Right, as soon as i turn on my dvd drive (with ck3. and linked via sata to my XP) my PC crashes without even loading jungle tool.

So would it be worth while going the DOS route ?, wouldnt it just do the same ?

(i have via card)
