Liteon Tray Won't Open At All
« on: December 13, 2008, 06:34:00 AM »

Hi all

I tried yesterday to get the key from my Liteon drive with help of my uncle.
I built the Rs323 echo and in the echo test it worked perfect.

I opened the drive and tried to solder r707 and 708. That failed.  and r710 was gone. and 709 was in his place.

Now all the soldering zone was gone. We scratched the PCB to get to the wires below and we got to them. we also checked a connection using multimeter. and there were a connection between all.

This is a diagram how it looks.

I built an adapter to turn on XBOX 360's dvd drive. I tried it on Samsung m28 and Hitachi 78 and they both powered up without any problem and also ejected the drive when needed.

I checked every solder to make sure it doesn't touch a connection near it. and it all was negative.

The only thing that was wrong is the missing resistor on r710.
I connected it to the Xbox. but still nothing.

Can anyone help me to get the key. Or how to check if the drive is still working. Please if anyone can guide me what currents should be in every point and I will check to compare?

Thanks..

the resistors are there for a reason. if you actually directly bridged the connection without using the resistor, then you may have fried the port for the eject signal on the chip already.
