the thing i was thinking about is.

solder point "07" is read if bridged
solder point "08" is write if bridged

so if you are going to "use the probe/wand"

what if you are writing and you hand slips and all of the sudden 08 isn't bridged does the flash program stop and start over and keep trying until it gets it 100% flashed and checksummed to make sure it is all in order or do you brink your 1/2 flashed drive/chip????

just wondering i can solder no problem i have the ck3 and just ordered the probe/wand for it from mrmodchips  but if its safer to solder then thats what i will be doing.

just wanted to see if c4 or anyone in contact with him could get this question answered incase the nubs go to flash and brick there drives on accident and then start putting up hate threads on c4. he is the xbox hacking scene and telling people the risk before hand would help i think. ( if any risk at all )

The xtractor/ck3/homebrew version isnt used to flash the drive, only to retreive the  key and other info.  All flashing is done by applications via sata.  If a bad flash occurs, issue the erase command and flash over it, just like you would a samsung or benq.

I know you guys must be damned bored of the same old questions, but:

If all I buy is the Xecuter Xbox 360 Connectivity Kit v3 Lite and a VIA VT6421A PCI card, will I be able to successfully install the new iXtreme when it comes out on my Liteon drive WITHOUT any further soldering? I want to buy this all by christmas before the post cut off date.

Cheers  happy.gif

Anyone know if we should be leaving the jumpers on the two points on the lite-on boards? (after we get our keys).  Or do we take those off?

I was wondering the same thing.
I spoofed my LiteOn as a BenQ and was thinking of going back to the LiteOn once this new firmware is released.
I think I'll just play it safe and remove the jumpers....

thats cool then, now i can put the some of the liteons back into their rightful 360's and keep the samsungs i bought as spares..
wonder how many other people actually save their key's in folders named as the 360 serial number??

i always figured liteons would be hacked via a piggy backed(ontop) chip like i did my wii solder less chip where u just clip it on top of the existing chip.. thats why i kept all the keys organized for later use.
thanks for the reply

If i buy the Connectivity Kit v3 Pro i will still need a sata card right ? The sata card must be a VIA 6421A  or any sata card will work ?

Is there a possibility I could be banned?

If that is the case, i'll unplug my box from Live until 12/24/2008 in order to upgrade.
Thanks for you guidance!
Regards,
wantin2mod

IF YOU FLASH YOUR DRIVE THERE IS ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY OF BEING BANNED. THIS DOESN'T CHANGE WITH THE NEW FIRMWARE.

FLASHING = TAKING A RISK

Hi all.

First I want to say THANKS to all that were involved in this breakthrough.
This is a Christmas gift that those guy gave to all of the world.

I have an Elite xbox 360 with LiteOn DG-16D2S. I tried to build an rs232 but failed. No matter how many times I checked it the loopback test didn't echo back. Any way I didn't had the time to do it. So a friend of mind sending me his.

I flashed Samsung m25, m28 and Benq drive using Via chipset that was onboard. The hitachi 78 I used Nvidia sata.

I don't have any access to Via's Sata card anymore . I only have Nvidia's onboard sata that Iprep gives me the ability to build a key. Will it work? Or I must use Via?

Thanks..

And again!! THANKS GUYS!!!!

Yes, I can confirm. Depending on how quickly development and testing goes, we might even see 1.5 for the other drives aswell, to fix liteon spoofing for hitachi/samsung drives, aswell as a few other small features previously discussed.
Yes, it is for the most part incorrect. The patent on the technology basically stated that there would be no way to read the firmware out of the drive. Obviously we managed that wink.gif

Also, so there is no confusion, this was not done by just c4e. This was a project that took a VERY large, and a extremely talented team of hackers. When I say hackers, I mean the REAL kind. This was a decent shot by MTK and PLDS, but fortunately we had some help from the inside wink.gif

Thanks Microsoft employees
