My kit's broken already  mad.gif
You guys should get the CK3 instead. The build quality of this one is shocking. The bottom parts with the solder come off straight away.
Not happy at all.

you must be abusing it.  I extracted keys for my friends as well and still going strong

Sure I was abusing, I'm suprised this thing lasted the journey from Canada. Not having a power button the adapter itself was a really bad idea.

I considered this kit too but after accounting for the usb adapter that you have to purchase if you don't have a com port, then it turns out to be $47.00 shipped.

For $50.00 I rather get the much more professional Xecuter one.  that one for goes the com port and you just use a simple usb to usb cable which comes in the kit.  All their drivers are on their web page, including all the software you need to extract the key with clear insturctions, something this kit lacked.  Only down side is if you want their probe it's $15.00 but you can make your own or do what I do which is use a simple flat head screwdriver to connect the two 707 points.

Depending on where you live you can get it from http://www.kanection.co.uk/ for about 28 british pounds shipped or $43 shipped to the states.

That's what I did after deliberating for a few days.

Hi, this is all very well getting the key from your existing LiteOn drive, but don't you need to spoof the firmware for it to work on any other drive models?

Basically, are you saying this is all i need to purchase in order to get the key from the LiteOn drive and put it onto a Samsung ms25 for example? As i have read I will also need to somehow spoof it as it is a diferent brand.

I have flashed between 13 and 16 Xboxes now and have finally landed a LiteOn drive. I understand i need to purchase a flashable drive and extract some information from the LiteOn in order to produce a flashed Xbox.

I will be purchasing the Xecuter connectivity kit V3 pro as their products are of very high quality and i trust them, along with that i shall be purchasing the probe to make life easier.

Also having not purchased a drive before, what model would you guys recommend? Working with price as the key factor here, I'd like to get one under £30 if possible (I live in the United Kingdom)

Please help me out here, It's 3AM and I'm reading through threads getting so confused   jester.gif

the liteon actually is flashable. the firmware and flashing utill will be released on the 25t, known as ixtreme 1.5
so if you can wait a week you don't have to buy another drive.

Since the wires are so small on this thing, they solder joints can easily be broken on this thing (move the wires back and forth a little and they pop). What I did when I first got it was to tack the wires down with some hot glue, and also dab some hot glue down over the solder joints. It's very solid now, don't have to worry about moving it around.

WOW...its been 2 weeks already and I haven't seen mine.  I'm thinking of getting a refund.  Who the hell ships packages these days without a tracking number?

Where are you located?  They are in Toronto, I am in Toronto, that is why I can get it quick.
You shouldn't worry too much, I think they are in business for many years.
BTW, you can fire a support ticket to them (via www.csbooth.com), their response is very fast.

Here are some pictures.

Thanks to Brisk's turotial, I followed his instruction and successfully extracted the key and file.

I received the improved version,   all I need is to clip the alligator to the back metal part of the chip, see my pic below.  really simple.

(IMG:http://i42.tinypic.com/2re5r1e.jpg)

(IMG:http://i39.tinypic.com/2mgoxgn.jpg)

the rest are very easy.  I used xtractor, I got the key in a couple seconds.

I was also considering the ck3 lite or pro, but the diy one is cheapest one with a solderless solution and it comes with hdd sata adapter too.  It gets the job done!

Now I need to sell the rs232 addon on craigslist, and keep the dvd and hdd adapter!
(I think you can also clip the alligator to a 5v power in the pc, it should work - will get it a try later on)
