If you already have your 707 points bridged then all you would need is the XBOX 360 DVD Power Adapter - Version 2 by it self, right?

Looks like they have replaced the 2 spear version with the one spear version:

I have submitted a ticket to them, hopefully I can get DG-X360-07 instead.

It's still 2 spears, you just probably can't see it in the picture.  I don't think you can extract the key with this setup without the 2 spears.  that's why I say it's getting complicated.

Once they sold out of the first model, they ran around frantically trying to came up with an alternate solution.  They can't afford to be out of stock on this with everyone buying jaspers and wanting to mod their box. But They ran out anyways as they didn't foresee the high volume of sales.

As if these setups were not confusing enough, and making everyone ask 100's of questions, they just made it worse in the name of continuing to make sales smile.gif

I'll bet you $100.00 they will have another version that is better very soon.  This model just buys them some time until they bring in something different or more of the very first version.

i wish they had been offering this newest product last week, but it should be noted that diygadget is now selling the solderless adapter by itself with alligator clip for only $18.

if you already own a connectivity kit, this is a great deal. buying it is easier than building it yourself and this option is much cheaper than paying for parts you already own.

plus, if you are modify it a bit more it will be easier to use... cut the grounding clip, strip the wire and solder both the power and ground to a more convenient power/ground source than the solderless points on your powered up drive. the adapter can be powered by 3.3-5v so you have lots of options.

Im having trouble getting the above method to work, everytime i get to Step 11: Disconnect the molex power to the DVD adapter and reconnect it:, the computer reboots itself. Does this mean ive got to buy a serial port addon card (im currently using a usb to serial) and do it through dos? Or am i missing something?

It took 6 days to arrive and i live in Portugal. Shipped 10/12 arrived on the 16th. The molex you're using isn't connected to the hard disk or something like that? The one i used was the one connected to my pc dvd drive and nothing else and i had no problems using that one. Try using other and see if the problem remains. Hope it doesn't!

I tried another molex- no joy
It would appear my motherboard is not capable of hotswaping sata devices when there is a sata hd installed. No matter, i found a spare com port in my motherboard box, used dvdkey in dos, 2 keys extracted no problem.

Now just need to wait till xmas eve!

My kit's broken already  mad.gif

You guys should get the CK3 instead. The build quality of this one is shocking. The bottom parts with the solder come off straight away.

Not happy at all.
