did you look at diygadget.com?
for the 3 features:
# Mode-B on Hitachi 59 & Earlier (78/79 Require Slax Disc)
# Compatible with already released tools (dvdkey/dvdkey32/toolbox etc)
# Onboard ON/OFF Switch
# Onboard Eject Switch
Diygadget's kit has Mode B, has on board eject switch, of course compatible with those softwares (I don't see why this is a thing need to be mentioned? both diygadget and CK3 do not have any firmware at all, why it has anything to do with the compatibility?). Only downside is no on/off switch but I don't see that is important and doesn't justify $25 difference.
this is from their website:
QUOTE
* Improved PCB design and layout
* Added support for debug mode (on some DVD-ROMs)
* Added two LEDs to indicate the status of "Eject" button
* Added two LEDs to indicate the status of "Debug" button
* Using a higher VA rating low dropout postive regulator to convert 5V DC to 3.3V DC
* Using MAX3232 for RS232/TTL signal converter
* Works with any COM port including USB to serial adapter
* Solderless - extract key in minutes
if you check the pic below, you will see the mode b and eject button:

don't be fooled by version number. They are just numbers.
I also like the standalone USB to COM, because you have a separate tool/adapter. Whereas the xecuter, you have an integrated USB to COM, you cannot use it for your cell phones or other things. If you ever need a USB to COM, you need to buy again.
I ordered mine from their website, it's $46 shipped. I'm not surprised that ebay price is higher, because they need to pay ebay fees. so buyers end up paying all the ebay fees.
There is no deal on ebay any more, unlike 4 years ago. I am not too worried about their ebay feedback, ebay's policy is seller cannot leave negative to buyers so if buyer is not happy about any thing, they will leave negatives because buyer won't get any negatives from seller.
I used to buy from ebay, not any more. No deals on ebay these days!

I'd like to know why I should buy this kit (which im considering because he accepts paypal, i dont like using credit cards for buying such stuff) over the xecuter.
It is 39.98usd on ebay including shipping but i'll have to get the com to usb gadget for another $9.99 so total is 49.97.
The Xecuter pro (V3!) is 49.99 + S/H + $10 (?) for the spear so about
$70 but it has those options that dont seem available on the diy:
# Mode-B on Hitachi 59 & Earlier (78/79 Require Slax Disc)
# Compatible with already released tools (dvdkey/dvdkey32/toolbox etc)
# Onboard ON/OFF Switch
# Onboard Eject Switch
For a total of $20 more.
Is it worth the extra $20, it is V3 and not V2, more options + diygadget ebay feedback ratio isnt too greatand I believe he sells it AS-Is therefore no customer service if something is faulty.
