Turns out I don't have a "COM" port on my new Dell Inspiron 530.  Is there an alternative?  I was really looking forward to purchasing this kit.

you can buy a USB to COM adapter when you buy the kit (as a option when you add to cart, this is what I did).  I think it will cost you $10 more.  Or you can grab a USB to COM in your local store.  $10 is cheap for a USB to COM.  My local store wanted $25... what a ripoff.

Ooops!  Thanks for the speedy response.   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I ordered it, and am looking forward to the release of iXtreme 1.5.  Many thanks to those responsible for all the research/trial and error that must be put into these projects.

So will this still work with all 360 DVD drives so you don't need to use the 360's power to power them up?

Right above the add to cart button there is a drop down menu for accessories.  The usb adapter is added by default.

Mines been dispatched. With $4 shipping I don't expect it to come here soon  laugh.gif

Gives me time to get a new 360 and sell my banned one.

I'm confused about when you would NOT need the "the USB to RS232 adapter".  Is this something that I must have already in order for the whole process to work?

If you have the CK3 pro you do not need to buy the spear, you just have to cut the one wire on the power cable and splice in another wire with a pin on the end and you can obtain the key that way without the need of spending the extra money or doing the soldering.  i read a drive today perfectly with it
