Problem Replacing Lite-on With Ms25
« on: December 05, 2008, 08:57:00 AM »

I ordered and received an MS25 today to replace a Lite-On drive.

No problems with the flashing, but once everything was back together, the clip-on eject button doesnt seem to physicaly reach the switch on the machine.

I ended up having to use an MS28, which did reach. Looking at the ms25 compared to the ms28, the bracket the button clips to seemed to be slightly more recessed on the ms25, which is probably the cause of the problem.

Anyone else come accross this, is there any fix, other than maybe superglueing something to make the little bar longer.

Absolutely i'm sure. the little black bits were through the holes and everything was flush.

I will be trying it again on the next one I get, but in the mean time, im interested to hear if anyone has managed to make one fit, and if so, was it a core or a premium eject button.
