Topic: Liteon Spoofed Samsung Wont Read Anything (Read 40 times)

Like the title says i have a samsung m28 drive(bought off ebay new supposed to be anyway). I have extracted my key from my liteon drive, and i have made my firmware. I flashed my drive per the instructions(not my first sammy flashing). The drive flashed fine. When I placed it in my 360 it doesnt read any kind of disc. It doesnt read dvds,original xbox360 games, or my backups. Is there something I am missing. Do I need to change the firmware speed, it is currently 12x. Did i get a bad drive? Thanks for any replies.

I have just bought an ms28 off ebay, its not arrived yet but is supposed to be new.
Do you want to PM me the sellers id to see if were using the same seller and if i have simular problems maybe it needs looking into.
Or maybe the problem lies elsewhere!

it would read dvds if nothing else

Buddy 6 it doesnt read anything at all dvds nothing just says reading then open tray so i have contacted the seller about it and i am waiting to hear a reply it has a 3 month warranty havent had it a month yet just got my box back from rrod and got my liteon key so i guess i got a bad drive

also can it be copied dvds (i cant remember which movie i tried and want to make sure its not just me making a key mistake)

even if the key was wrong
it would still play an original dvd

no it would play a copy dvd I only said original because it would be a good original disc a copy might be poor quality and might not play anyway

i tried an original dvd disc and its a no go also so i am thinking i got a bad laser so time to see what i gotta go through to get an exchange

The open tray message leads to the drive being faulty. Laser/motor issue. I had also bought a ms28 on ebay from that seller, classic game source, and recieved the same thing. I contacted them for replacement and got a new one from them. Second one worked fine after doing same flashing procedure.

Request a new drive from them.

messaged them and they are gonna take my faulty drive back and send me a new one and refund me the return shipping cost. did you flash it back to the samsung basic flash or just send it back as is shaow3000

I sent it back as it was with my firmware I flashed on it.
