Connecting Dvd Drive To The Computer
« on: December 04, 2008, 04:21:00 PM »

I have a dual-drive external hard drive enclosure that uses SATA made by Rosewill and I was wondering if it would work to connect the Hitachi DVD drive in my Xbox 360 Elite to my computer.  I have a macbook but I would be running in bootcamp for the flashing.  Would this set-up work or should I seek out someone with a desktop PC.

from what I've read, you'll need a desktop.  I've yet to hear of anyone flashing that way.

From what I can gather, the only need for the desktop results from the lack of SATA ports on laptops.  Does anyone know if it is possible to use a generic SATA-->USB adapter to connect the drive to my computer?

I Use a SATA to USB adapter I bought off of ebay for game backups on my MS28 and it works great for backing up to a laptop.
