360 Dvd-drive Wont Read Any Disks

this may be a repost but i am sorry could not find a thread on it.

my 360 drive wont read any disks at all no games movies nothing. its a benq drive.
it just says open tray, even if their is a disk in it... so i open it and close it says reading and goes right back to open tray as if the disk is not in there at all... pls help

just want to be able to play games again

Sounds like the drive is dead.

Friend had a similar problem with his BenQ.. he ended up replacing it.

What is to think about? You say it says Open Tray after a while.
The laser is gone.. Either replace the laser or get another BenQ.

It won't help, the laser is most certainly dead.

Regardless, just flash with the orig.bin (original firmware).
That is, when you read your firmware before flashing the hacked firmware, it would have saved something like orig.bin or Ben-OFW.bin -- whatever it was, you should have made ten backups of it.

If in doubt if the file your flashing to your 360 is indeed your original fw, it would be advisable to READ your current fw, creating a backup.. save that in a safe place.. that way, if you flash the wrong thing to your BenQ, you can go back to that backup and recover your hacked iX firmware.

yeah not really i had someone do it and i had sent my 360 in for repairs and he cant flash the liteon i kinda figured that all the firmware was just dumped so oh well i guess i am getting a new drive
