Flashing The Spoofed Liteon Firmware Into Hitachi 46dh
« on: December 03, 2008, 04:11:00 PM »

Hi All

I have read that much my brain wont think anymore  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I have flashed drives before but never spoofed one.

I am using the executer CK3 pro and via6421.

Here is what i have done so far

I have sucessfully retrieved the DG-162S Liteon key

I then opened 360 firmware toolbox V4.8 and then ixtreme 1.4 hitachi 46_16-8x, i then inserted the Liteon Key, then "tools/spoof firmware and used the inquiry.bin to create the "firmware spoofed as DG-162S"

Now this is where i am not to sure what to do next ( i did do tools/direct drive flash/differial flash on my first hitachi 47DH  when i tried it in the 360 it said "please put this disc in a 360 drive" or simular so i tried again to flash it but its now a brick  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  ) It was identified in windows as a DG-162S before it died
I dont want to brick this one.......

what do i actually do now with my Hitachi ixtreme 46.bin with liteon key injected and spoofed as DG-162s,
I have read toolbox is known for bricking hitachis ?
I just cant find anything solid to confirm the method i am using is right.

the team executers walkthrough covers samsung and benq, i just am not 100% how to put the spoofed bin file into the 46Dh

thanks in advance

open fw toolbox and dump your hitachi firmware or use stock firmware that comes with fw toolbox
open up in fw toolbox copy you key.bin from lite -on , use smart hack patcher  to patch you drive spoof with inquirey.bin

If you fw bin file looks like this then go to
Tools /direct drive flash/differential flash patch/click on use classic mode to read differences click read
and detect differences if everything looks ok no errors then flash drive
my picture shows ver47 but yours will be ver46
Good Luck[lol its ok this will work fine used it many times

Thanks for quick reply Buddy6

I cant be far off as my toolbox looks the same as yours but with 46DH but there is one bit which seems to be of concern.

I have followed the tutorial off team executers CK3 support /swap liteon for other drive.(dont want to post a link)
This tutorial shows the first opened file as ixtreme.bin, you mention opening the orig.bin firmware from toolbox folder? this could be where i am going wrong.

Here is my interpretation of what you are telling me buddy6

1. open firmware toolbox
2. open 46 firmware from origfw folder
3. locate extracted key.bin (liteon) and insert.
4. tools/smarthack patcher....."ruleset "ixtreme 1.4" "output file" saved to my location then "generate"
5. Hacked file then opened
6. spoof this file with inquiry.bin tools/spoof firmware/custom/inquiry.bin
7. Tools /direct drive flash/differential flash patch/click on use classic mode to read differences click read
and detect differences if everything looks ok no errors then flash drive

appreciate your input mate, sometimes the harder you look the harder it gets it just needs someone to make you regather your thoughts and start afresh.

thanks

yes that is correct do that you should be ok if your ver 46 has not been flashed before
I have got an external programmer I have done two hitachi drives ver 46 not so long ago
but even though I reprogrammed them with the correct firmware they still did not work may be somebody done the wire trick to get them into mode b
does your bricked drive eject or spin up
if you get the chip of and send it to me i will reprogram it and send it back to you

The drive doesnt do anything (not sure if it spins up), it had never been flashed untill i did it, it was off a dead 360 not modded so definetely not had the wire method tried on it.
When i tried reflash it after it just said "put this game in a 360 dvd drive" i got a write sector error so i had to cancel process to get out of the lock up.
I have looked everwhere mate to find what chip wants lifting off, can you help me in identifying the chip required.
Appreciate your offer to help
