Changing Allready Used Drives
« on: December 03, 2008, 08:51:00 AM »

hi there...

i had ms28 drive on my xbox360 hacked with ixtreme 1.4
but i used that drive to put it in an x360 instead liteon drive...
before i do that i made a backup of drive with iprep( reading the firmwer once ...dsam...in dos...)

now i have folder "backups" with 2 files inside

-sam-cfw
-sam-ofw

here is my question:

im going to buy new ms28 drive and put him in my xbox but when spoofing them is the original firmwer from my last drive named sam-ofw..?

im asking this because im not sure can iprep get my orig key from already flashed drive?

I'm not a 100% sure what your asking? I think you said that your 360 orginaly came with a liteon drive, and you got the key from it and used it to spoof a MS28. I'm assuming your MS28's having issues so you want to replace it with another MS28. If that the case and you have a backup of your spoofed MS28 firmware then you can just use that on your new MS28.

The imporatant thing here is having the correct key. The OFW is probabaly the orinal firmware from the old MS28, which is most likely the wrong key, but you the one that saved the files right, so you should know what firmware is what. Anyway, good luck.

so now my old xbox had no drive
so i must buy a new ms28 for my old xbox

so im just asking is it possible to get original firmware from already modified drive?

My bet is the OFM folder being the right one if this is the firmware before you spoofed it to be a liteon. If you are asking if you can pull the old firmware off an newley flashed drive the answer is no.

But you could use Maximus 360 tool in windows to open the firmware in both files to check the keys. If they are different then one of them has to be the orginal key. If they are the same then there is a 50% chance you could be screwed. Mostly likey your fine, just use the key and insert it in the orginal firmware or hacked firmware that you download for the new MS28 drive.
