I tried for 2 days to flash a 79fl. Used to do the passkey way, but got one of those Maximus thingys and figured I'd go the software way. I had no problem getting the drive into modeb using the Maximus device or Podger's modeb tool. The drive would show up in Windows, the 360 game in the drive would play as a DVD movie, but no way, no how could I get firmware toolbox to do a raw dump of the firmware. I've done probably 50-60 78 and 79's, so I know how to do the raw dump properly. Finally I decided to try the audio CD exploit after getting into modeb. That did it. All the tutorials I seen around, everyone mentioned getting the 79's into modeb and that part was no problem but no one seemed to mention that you should use the audio cd exploit afterwards to unlock the drive so that firmware toolbox can access it. Seems like no one mentioned that part anywhere, so for anyone out there trying to flash a 79fl, use podgers modeb tool or the Maximus one if you have a Maximus device and then the audio cd as the last step and worked like a charm after that.
