New Hitatchi Lg Not Working
« on: November 28, 2008, 10:06:00 AM »

HEy everyone , first post on here ,still a "semi" newb to flashing and that type of stuff. I have been encountered with a problem that I can't fix and hoping you guys have some information to prevent me from ripping my hair out shreds at a time.

 Start from the beginning which I will try to be as specific as possible. I have a hitatchi Lg Gdr3120L 0059J . I had succesfully flashed it earlier but wanted to rip a game so I opened up my system again. Now I know the 2 wire trick is an extremely hasty way to do get into mode b , but I had succeeded with it before , but me being a new a put my pins to 8 and 1 .........I know. So I was pretty sure my drive was bricked so got another hitachi. Now the problems are still the same I will just list them so you dont have to pick them out of the paragraph.

The problems I have right now are ;
1)Eject button on xbox does not do anything , middle green light flashes when I press the button , no response.
2)I am sure I am in mode b of some sort ,the drive is recognized on windows.
3)I can get a disc into it and it will spin , but it never comes down to idle just fast.
4)With a game in windows will recognize a disc in there.

Now more over ,I can access the drive and manage to "read" the drive and get it to dump its information ,because I need the key from this drive just in case. I will patch my old drive key on it if I ever get this thing to work again.

When I try to flash the drive with flash24s.bat , it will start then give me the can not stop spinning disc error then crater.

So my main problems with that are ,
It can read the information from the drive ,
It says the disc will not stop spinning when I try to flash it.

I am not sure if the board itself is fried. I can still load my dashboard and all that , Im hoping that it has something to do with the power cable from the mobo to the drive ,because I know pin 8 (which i smoked with 12V+ pin 1 when I hooked up my two wire trick wrong) holds the signal for whether the drive is open or closed.I can see on my dashboard when my tray is opened or closed so I know that the eject button itself is still working. At this time im waiting on a new power cable for the drive to come in and hoping that might work.

If anybody knows that I may have fried that contact with the pin on the board let me know , because I could probably fix that.

Lastly I guess it could be a possibility that my sata drivers are interfering with this , I am using an ASUS P5RD1-V mobo with ULi sata controller M1573.

I appreciate everyone who helps me out here , its great to have a community willing to teach the newbs which will definitely help me at with helping other peoples issues in the fututre.

Cheers
Neil
