Benq Vad-6038 E65 Error Message
« on: November 23, 2008, 05:00:00 AM »

Dear All,

I have a couple of enquires. I bought a second hand xbox and it worked fine. Before taking it apart I tested a couple of my friends copied games and some worked, some didn't. Does this mean the xbox was already flashed by the previous owner? or will some copied games work with unflashed xbox's?

Secondly, using Iprep and ixtreme 1.41 firmware I attempted to flash my drive. I had already flashed a benq and samsung before using the same method but this time it read the firmware ok. Then I proceeded with the flashing and iprep hanged and a single red light appeared on the xbox. I plugged the xbox into the tv and the error message was E65 - a problem with the DVD FW or the disc tray being stuck. I attempted to restore the original firmware but to no avail.

I looked at the contents on the iprep usb stick and the original FW seemed to have copied but when I opened it using fwtoolbox the bin file couldn't be loaded. It could be loaded in to a hex editor and I have located the key.

Is there anything I can do ? Could I simply get another dvd drive? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Greg.

UPdate - what I believed has happened is that the XBOX was already flashed when I bought it but was just being funny about 1 disc. The original Firmware is not available but the hacked firmware on there was recovered and has the drives serial key within it.

Do I need an original copy of a benq firmware and replace its key with mine?
