good luck with that. Does the drive still work by any chance? And what was you doing with the soldering iron?

wen i put the drive bak into the xbox the green light just flashes. was tryin to bridge the connections have u sin the size of them ther tiny!!! i have bad eyes as you can see in the pic but its just gone tits up!!!! you think it can be fixed ive been looking round on the net at other ppls and some are worse than mine its for sum1 who really noes about pcb's really hope it can be fixed or sum other way of gettin the key off the drive

sucks to say it but things like that happen heh .. how else would you be able to learn hah

anyway the best way that i found to do this is to just use two small screw drivers and just touch the two points while you have a friend hit the enter key for you heh works like a charm on about 10 lite ons i have done so far.

See the two holes circled in red? just carefully scrape of the laquer with a sharp knife and solder tx and rx directly to them... no bridging needed.

I did something similar with my first lite-on so don't worry about it.

I think it looks worse than it really is so don't worry about it. Someone should be able to patch it  up and extract the key without too much work. I'd check out the installers thread for someone in the UK that can help you.

Cleanup with some solder cleaner and then make a foto, after that we'll be able to assess the damage. If you pay shipping to the netherlands (both ways) I can probably fix your board.
