Cant Get Drive In Mode B

hi there you dont put a samsung into mode b thats only for hitachi's get a usb flash install your firmware onto it using iprep and boot from usb pen its easy as it sounds

lol, well that solves that.....

i was told that if i could get the drive to detect in windows i could use it to rip games to the HDD thus saving me the money to buy a pc dvd drive that reads them

ok so i used iprep and made a boot floppy and i am booted now, for the serial number part (dont have the sticker from the back of the case as i bought RROD unit and it was missing

how can i get this?

You don't actually need the serial number, you can enter any number and it will work.

ok once i do the save with 1234567 12345 it askes for 1 or 2 for the sata port so i turn off unit, press 1, wait 10 secconds then turn back on and nonthing happneds...

I think you still need to have a VIA or nForce chipset for a Samsung..also needs to be IDE mode

just switched to IDE mode and still no luck, ordering a VIA sata card now. may as well order a DVD drive for PC to rip games as well. What brand is the safest to get (e.g. are ALL sony's flashable?)

I would try dosflash 1.6 also, just put the exe on the root of your boot device. When Iprep comes up just say no. And you'll be at a command prompt to execute. It's pretty self explanatory to use.
