Sure, its not the prettiest solder job ever - but its been Soldered/de-soldered/Fluxed/Cleaned/Tested/Swore at etc.. a few times now to test the drive with Originals (which work fine).

If I knew this was coming i'd have installed a switch!  wink.gif

i've done continuity tests from the PCB through holes to the Connector and all is well

Thanks

With that error and all CC's it would appear no data was retrieved from your serial port..... You will need to have another look at your setup check you connections etc.....
Also, try another drive, to confirm your PC and serial are all OK....

Right apparently this *could* be a drive with the exploit blocked!   ohmy.gif

these are the details!

60 GB Version Premium white

LOT NO 834
TEAM FDOU
Date of Manufacture   2008 -08 -23

it has a paper Sticker *not* the normal Silver MS sticker for warranty seal

Bought From GAME Bury Manchester UK on 1 Nov 2008

After all my messing with the solder points/unplugging etc the drive still boots originals ok
so I have not damaged it in anyway ...

Hope that helps

just a thought but have you tried a piece of wire soldered to the alternate solder location, you might have a small break from manufacture in the pcb track, i had one that suffered this problem, thats why i use a piece of thin wire to bypass the whole track. so take it straight from the pin hole in the board straight across to the alternate solder point further up the board, bet it works :-))

How do you weld the Rs323 cable into the PCB. Can someone post a picture?

Same here, has anyone found out a way around this issue?? I can dump with either dvdkey32, jungleflasher or xtractor reader... Xtractor reader gives me the bc=0 error, and jungleflasher says something like "Bad serial data". So I changed the serial port cable to another one, same shite happened... I can not get it to work so please someone help me!? I have promised my self not to buy anymore 360´s as this is my fourth, so I really need/want to get this working if it is at all possible?? Any help is dearly appreciated! Thx.

Drive is from 2008 June... Its from a 360 arcade falcon.

I had a similar problem, you guys might want to check your COM port, I had it on the wrong port and as soon as I put it on the right one it dumped the firmware.
