Dde With Xtreme 5.2b
« on: October 01, 2008, 07:05:00 PM »

Looking to solve the DDE problems that I am having with the newer backups, example being Ninja Gaiden 2 and SWFU.  Cant make it more than 1 minute into the game before the DDE.

Currently running Commodore4Eva Xtreme 5.2B.  Specifically, will an update to the latest firmware solve the DDE's?  Need some advice because I am running a Mac now and will have to make some maneuvers to get the update done.

Thanks for looking.

The new firmware would not fix that. Your problem could be a combination of or, any one of the following;
dirty lens
failing laser
poor quality media
poor quality  burns

So assuming you checked your burn quality and media, clean the lens with some alcohol and while you have the drive out, you may as well flash with the latest firmware.
If that fails, you could also try adjusting the pot. This will get some extra life out of that dying laser.

Thanks for the info, will attempt to clean the laser, thats the easiest to accomplish right away.

Best regards.
