What is current situation regarding replacing the Lite-On drive with flashable model?

Last I heard was that only BenQ drives should be used, however, they are VERY difficult to get hold of.

Any drive is fine to use, its just for stealth reasons the BenQ is suggested.

I have asked similar questions and can't get a definite yes or no. From what I understand even spoofing a Samsung as BenQ is detectable. So I am sure doing it for the Liteon is detectable as well.

I would say no more than any hacked drive is Live safe.

In the end the only one that truly knows is Microsoft and they ain't talkin.

Tell me something that is Live safe using a hacked drive and Ill tell you wwhat isnt.
