Hitachi 78 Mode B Problem

Well I can't get to work in slax 2.0 or 2.1, My Bios detects it perfectly, raid is off, my motherboard is a p4m900t-m maybe even slax detects it i'm not sure. But Slax never shows up the message to eject the drive. I know for sure it's not in mode B, it opens up with 1 button press and shows other signs of it not being in mode b. So... yeah, um I'm going to buy a pci sata card and see if that will work, in the meantinme i have another question, is my drive supposed to show up in windows even if it's not in mode B? , becouse it does.
