Hitachi 59dj Detection In Windows Vista
« on: July 23, 2008, 07:12:00 AM »

So I have the Hitachi hooked up to my VIA chipset sata card, RAID is off, drive is in ModeB and Vista doesn't seem to like it... Sometimes it will show up in my device manager, but in My Computer it is displayed as a drive with a question mark. Other times it will show up in device manager with a "Code 10" error.  What a pain!! I've tried leaving it plugged in and loading windows while ejecting the drive and also disconnecting, loading windows and then plugging in. I've done hitachi's before, but I think the last 59 I tried also gave me problems. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Onboard SATA worked like a charm... will never use FWToolbox again tho (for 59s). Thanks for the help.
