Problem With Iprep
« on: July 21, 2008, 02:04:00 PM »

hey guys.. Im trying to reflash my X360 drive (my current firmware has bugs) and im having issues!

I have never fashed one b4.. i have read the guides but nothing that coments about my issue!

Im using a PCMCIA sata card via VT6421
Windows XP pro SP2
iprep v006 (after 007.02 didn't work) and iprep v007.02

So i install my pcmcia card and install the drivers and everything then i open up iprep.. I get an error on startup saying"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application..."
(IMG:http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b237/eaks/ipreperror.jpg)

Hopefully that image works.. i have hit continue but after doing that i cannot select any target destination (its just blank).. But if i do change from the VT6421 to something else (which all are uncompatible) and then restart iprep i get no errors at all.. then when i pick the VT6421 chipset to use the same error pops up.. does anyone have any ideas?

Some people have claimed to flash the Benq using this PCMCIA card.

Forget about I-prep and do everything manually using a boot disk,  dosflash and firmtool (to put your drive key into the modified firmware).

I've always had problems using any version of iPrep through DOS
I finally was able to flash my benQ through DOSFLASH32 in Vista Ultimate using my onboard nforce sata chipset and xecuter connectivity kit...was so easy with dosflash32...just 1,2,3 man.
Use Dosflash32, forget iprep.

you need to download and install Microsoft's .Net 2.0 (1.0 and 3.0 are different, it must be 2.0). you can get it by using the microsoft update feature from the start button, just select custom install when it asks. you can also get it directly from the microsoft website.
