I am thinking of buying a Xbox 360 (Arcade Version) and modifying/flashing my DVD-ROM. I have a few questions before I go ahead with my purchase:
1. Is Miscrosoft banning consoles now? I remember they did worldwide bans in 2007.
2. If you don't go live ever then you can not get banned, can you? What are the other disadvantages apart from not being able to play live.
3. If I ever get banned, does this brick the whole Xbox or you are only banned from playing live? Can I still use it offline with backed up games?
4. Is there any DVD-ROM currently on the market which can not be flashed? What DVD-ROM should I avoid?
5. Can someone show me a link to the latest guide showing how to do it?
6. If you do not intend to go online then can you still do future updates, like dashboard on a CD/DVD and update the system?
7. If some future games require upadates then how do you get around the problem?
Many thanks in advance.
1. Yes, but they can only ban consoles connected to live (obviously).
2. If you do not use live then there isn't a connection to your console and therefore Microsoft cannot ban your account.
3. Only banned from Live. U should still be able to play offline.
4. I'm not sure, you would have to look around though the vast majority can be flashed, all be it some of the newer ones needing a passkey.
5.
Some Flash Advice6 and 7... Not sure about the updates, I'll have a look about and see. I'm sure google could answer this one.
Hope I helped.
