The BenQ can be flashed. The LiteOn may take a few years before it can be hacked.

before you do anything, check whether it actually is a benq or lite-on drive

Answer what first question? You said you has a LiteOn. There is no need to answer anything about going on to Live since you wont be able to flash the drive anyway.

I didn't know they were making 360's with Lite-On drives now.  However you can flash a Lite-On DVD burner drive with firmware.  But thats just updated firmware to aid in 360 iso burning, not hacked firmware to play.  For that get a Toshiba-Samsung or a Hitachi.

That post does nothing for him. He is not asking about a PC drive. And he can never replace his LiteOn with any other drive since he will never be able to get the drive key. If you dont know about this new un hackable drive look here.

Luckily since you cant read or white to the flash he is not likely to brick it. But he can spend a few year trying.

You can still go on Live, you run the risk of being banned.

How does my post not help him?  I told him Lite-On drives are used for burning and for playing backups get a TS or Hitachi which are hackable.  How is that not advice?  I can't help if you didn't like the advice I gave him thats a personal thing.

You can not replace LiteOn drives, since you can't extract the drive key.
