first hook up his samsung drive and backup his firmware,  then load into windows and make your iXtreme 1.4 firmware and open it up in firmware toolbox4.6, then get your key from your hitachi 47 and replace the key in the iXtreme1.4 firmware with yours.  now spoof the firmware using toolbox to 47 hitachi drive.  now make sure you havent done anything to your friends backup you made cause you dont want  to lose his key!  Now boot into your usb flash drive in dos and flash the drive with the modified firmware you prepared with your key and spoof and then the samsung is done.

Now for the hitachi, boot into slax with the hitachi hooked up so it goes into mode b (or however you normally do it for yourself) then get into windows load it up with Firmware Toolbox4.6 and dump the firmware.  Then restore it back to original and then replace your key with your friends key from his Samsung firmware and flash the key.  then do smart hack patcher and select the firmware for it to make and do a diferential flash let it complete then apply a spoof for it to appear as the samsung model he has and flash that and yer done

1.) Make iprep flash drive and shut down pc
2.) hook up his samsung drive and backup his firmware (to dump the drive: dsam 1234567 12345)
3.) Now restart the PC back into windows.
4.) Backup his copy of his firmware to multiple locations email him and yourself (VERY IMPORTANT)
5.) If you have your Hitachi firmware open it in Firmware toolbox and copy your key
6.) Open the iXtreme 1.4 Firmware iprep made while flashing the samsung from the flash drive in Toolbox
7.) paste your key in this firmware and hit replace
8.) click tools>Spoof Firmware then select the hitachi 47 drive
9.) Now reboot back into iprep with the flash and type: fsam 1234567 12345  (it will flash the modified one you prepared in windows if you did this correct)
10.) hook it up and enjoy!

Hitachi
1.)  Hook up hitachi and boot slax to get it in mode B
2.)  In windows load firmware toolbox 4.6
3.)  Load the original samsung firmware and copy the key
4.)  now dump the drive firmware from the hitachi and choose open.
5.)  restore drive
6.)  replace the key that was your now with his by pasting it and then click Tools>Direct Drive Flash>Flash Key
7.)  Flash the differences
8.) then click tools>Spoof Firmware and select the samsung model your friend had
9.) then click Tools>Direct Drive Flash>Flash ID String
10.) after that your done hook it up
11.)Hitachi will only play originals BTW running orig firmware

Word of warning, if you spoof the Hitachi before you hack it you can't get into mode-b using slax in order to hack it...

All I'm saying is that you should hack it and then spoof it afterward.... Once hacked, it will go to mode-b by having the tray open when you power the drive on, so slax is not needed

my first directions called for hacking it but he said he wanted it to be original firmware so I took that part out.  I recommend smart hack patching like podger said though.

kreon is easier.  with samsung ver iX 1.4 you cant enable 0800 anymore so you would have to reflash it each time with 0800 firmware then reflash back to Ixtreme 1.4 before using on yer console.
