Hello all! I've been on the forums all day searching for an answer, and I may be overlooking it so I have decided to ask. I am trying to update my dvd firmware from iXtreme 1.3 to the newest 1.4. I have used Iprep to create a disc. I cannot find my original firmware anywhere so I am just flashing over my 1.3. I have a m25 Samsung drive, and I have backed up the firmware without incident, but when I go to flash it tells me:

ERR: Fail to Read Input File and it will stop.

I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've never had this much trouble updating my firmware before. Please let me know if I've skipped a step or something. I also have the VIA sata chipset if that makes a difference.

Wow thanks for the detailed post! Your information really helped. I got my xbox 360 out of "always read" state and flashed it with the correct firmware, and it works perfect. Thanks to all that helped out!
