Swapping Drives
« on: February 03, 2020, 03:51:00 AM »

Hi, when my old 360 died I salvaged the hitachi drive running ixtreme firmware. I bought another 360 second hand which has the same drive but it gives unplayable disc errors. I tweaked the pot which made things a bit better but I'd still like to give my old drive a whirl. If I went through the process of dumping the firmwre and swapping the drives over, once that was done could I just swap between the drives as I liked or would I need to do some sort of reverse procedure?

Just swap the logic boards or the lasers. these parts are interchangeable between same drives.
