I just purchased a new xbox 360 and it has a BENQ DVD ROM, I use Dosflash and successfully read the firmware, after I powered off the xbox 360 and turned it back on to flash it... the system died, gives RROD but nothing works, no fans, no dvdrom.

Is there something about BENQ DVDROMS I should know about?

Nevermind, this X360 is really screwed up. It has some sort of electrical malfunction... it started to work again and then died in 10 minutes with 3 RROD, usually with RROD the DVDROM still ejects and the fans still work but this is complete system failure RROD.

could be a bad flash try reading your dumped fw to make sure its all ok or try restoring it with the orig fw i know you only have intermitend power but only thing i can suggest unless you have the original fw then you could spoof it to a diff m/board

Get the secondary error code (if you don't know how to get it, then read some more) and tell us, maybe with something more specific we could help more.

Already returned it for a new one, it just surprised me to see an xbox 360 fail 10 minutes into its life, it wasnt a bad flash... because all I did was read the firmware, I couldnt write cause the drive had no power after that, nor did the fans.

did you ground the xbox....maybe you fried it
