Sh-d162d / 3b Should Be Reading Faster?
« on: May 26, 2008, 07:41:00 AM »

I always had a hunch that something is limiting the reading speed of the drive, it's supposed to read way more than 6x, say 8-16x.

It never goes over the 6x, Incredibly fast before 4% in XBOX Backup creator. (Same happens with the 162c and D)

I found a speed patch for the D163B but it's only for non-kreon firmware so it would lose the capability of reading XBOX 1 / 360 games.

Is it limiting for a reason? (The XBOX drive reads at 12x?)

- Q6600 @ 2.40ghz
- 4GB Ram
- 9800GTX
- 640GB Raid0 (2x320 Seagates 7200.10)

Anyone know?

About 19-20mins, it never goes to 12x, it just stays at 6x which is the supposed write speed of a DL, Isnt there a speed patch for the kreon alternative?, Or its the XBC itself, I dunno.

- Like before it reads/unlocks (before 3-4% it read at 12-16x, it read incredibly quick like a second or less, and then just gets capped somehow after that throughout the process (4%-100%) to 6x (9.880MB/sec)

- This is with original XBOX 360 disks....
