Hi there,
I'm swapping out a Hitachi 79 and replacing it with a Samsung MS25.
I have the key and *.bin file from the Hitachi (courtesy of Nexi -- thank you!), as well as iXtreme Firmware v1.4 for Samsung. I've loaded iXtreme in Toolbox 4.6 to replace the key and spoof the drive for a Hitachi 79.
However, when I open iPrep and try to load the [keyed and spoofed] firmware under 'Samsung iXtreme Firmware', iPrep does not recognize it, and gives me the following error: "No valid firmwhere loaded."
I've noticed that iPrep will recognize the iXtreme firmware if it's unkeyed and unspoofed; either one (replacing a key or spoofing it, or both) will make it unrecognizable.
I've tried loading the blank (unkeyed and unspoofed) FW and continuing on, but right before the flash, I received a message saying that the FW lacked a key. It gave me the option to continue, but everything from advice to common sense told me not to.
I would appreciate any advice on the situation. Thank you.
Easiest way I can think of if you have your Samsung firmware with your key injected to it and running iXtreme1.4 with it spoofed to a 79 is this (after preparing the iprep usb stick):
Here is what to do for
iprep:
In the backup folder make a folder in a folder. The first folder name the first 7
of your ser #.The folder in that one{or 2nd folder} name it the last 5 of your
ser#.
In that folder put a copy of the samsung firmware spoofed. make sure the name
is " sam-ofw.bin " (JUST LIKE THAT WITH THE-} also look and make sure its a bin
file.It should be Grey under the name and have .bin.
then boot on the usb flash.when it gets to the point to put in a command type
this: rsam 1234567 12345
Of course the 1234567 is your ser #.Then just do what it tells you on the
screen.
