Passkey V79 Problem
« on: May 24, 2008, 04:12:00 PM »

Sup.

Trying to flash this 360 elite, v79FL, got the passkey, toke me a bit to install the passkey, was being careful to install it correctly and not break up and line and stuff.

Installed using the wires connection, tested every wire with a multimeter, every connection is right where it should be I am pretty sure. But, I connect it to my pc sata, connect to the opened 360 driver power supply, turn on 360, turn on pc, nothing happen.

No blue light, no blinking, drive doesn't open, takes a lot to both bios check what drivers are there and to windows to load. And still can't see the driver on windows. Xbox loads normally but I can't open the tray.

* I was checking the connection with the xbox plugged and on, and noticed that if I cut the chip GND and touch the - point with that, the chip led start blinking blue, but still, windows can't find the drive.

** If I plug the driver to the 360 sata, it gives me an 64 error.

Help?

Thank you very much!

Simply a bad install, double check your rework.... Most likely you are shorting 2 wire or the 1 of the 2 wires either side of the gnd pin are touching gound, that's e & f, or you have broken that ground wire...

What about the wires C and D, they really have no use like it shows on the diagram?

Sorry, yea, b and c.

No... The passkey will put the drive in mode-b automatically if it detects origianl firmware... It should activate immediately at power on with a blue light, just test eject it will take to presses to eject the tray and 2 to close it.....

If it goes to modeb it should dump in toolbox also..... You need a disk here to get the dump to work..
