i got slax 2 and it boots fine on my pc, but how do i know when im in mode b ?
i know that after a bunch of loading strings and stuff a login screen comes up do i have to login into the slax thing or should it have said im in mode b before that ?

When slax is done booting, just hit the eject button and see if it takes 2 presses for the tryay to open. If it opens on 2 presses it's in mode "B". If it ejects on 1 press it's not in mode "B".

If you use Slax 2.1 it tell you it found the GDR3120 and will then go into a timeout, you will have to eject the drive to get it to go on ...

And you should see all the typical mode-b behaviour as per @excaliburlives
