sounds like a bad soldering job, might want to go back and check everything.  Had that problem before.

Don't think so. Soldering is good. When switch is off, the drive dons't try reading a dvd!

Hi,

I have bought an arcade console and now I am trying to flash the drive. My Problem is, that I can't even read it.

I found a tutorial with adding a Switch to cut the SPI flash Power, and I soldered everything like in the tutorial, but when I switch on my xbox and after a second switch the flash back on, I can't read it.
Dosflash shows only the usual error with this drive when it's not readable...
HW ver: J-DA1A4
FW ver: 64930C
So whats wrong? Chipset is a Intel onboard SATA chipset. I already flashed some ms25 and Hitachi drives with it.
Thanks in advance.

hey reign could u flash the arcade afterall? i wanna kow coz i got the same model as yous and i am having a problem of similar kind. please let me know what's going on with your 360, that would really help me n i might be able to flash mine too. my email is [email protected] . thanx.

why not just spend 15 bucks and get a via card ive used the switch b4 with sucess but this was with a via chipset its so much ezier now

I have to agree the cheap $15 VIA card will have you dumping and flashing all day. I got an Arcade yesterday with Benq and flashed it using textbooks tut in less time than it took to open the 360. I then spent a good portion of the day flashing and spoofing it.. trying different firmwares on it.. all with super ease.. because of the VIA card.

I wish I could help.. but if you have done with hardware mod properly, and followed Textbooks tutorial, I see no reason why it wouldn't work assuming it is not something like a faulty cable.. etc etc..or just a stubborn chipset controller.

Are you sure it is not a Lite-on?
