Hitachi 47 Dj On Xbox With Original Ms28
« on: April 24, 2008, 12:56:00 PM »

Hey guys, I have an xbox 360 with a dead ms28 and have found a hitachi 47dj as replacement, will it work by just swapping  the drives or will the xbox recognize that the drive is different? if I flash the hitachi will it work with the xbox?

if not, how do u go about making the xbox recognize the hitachi?

the ms28 is completely dead so I cannot read or write to it(bought dead xbox to fix clamp but dvd drive wouldnt open so i opened it up so see what was wrong and it wont do anything now), I read I need the key but its found in the orig.bin of the ms28
correct? or can I get the key from the motherboard?

I need to know before I buy the 47 dj from this guy

okay I got the ms28 to turn on but it wont open or spin a disc (needed for 0800) so i tried with a via motherboard but it doesnt ask me to select a drive after i do mtkflash, it goes straight to port error ## master/slave #0 or to no drive detected

what can I do?

Why did you post 4 times in a row?

This has been covered alot of times, search the forums before posting. You cannot just swap a drive over, if it is dead, the key may be gone, you would have to send it off to someone who knows what they are doing to retrieve the key - if its even possible.

If you can't get the key from the drive you basically have a brick for throwing at people or a very expensive DVD player.

If thats the case, there is always the Infectus modchip which will allow you to get the same key which resides in the motherboard, in which case the 47 would help as you could simply patch the firmware with the key and spoof to MS-28.

I really regret helping you.

I know what to do as far as flashing the key to the hitachi, but Im asking whats wrong with the mtkflash not asking to select a drive when Im using a VIA motherboard connected to the ms28...

just says make sure DVD drive is on, press any key then goes straight to port error without asking to select drive
