New Lite-on Drive Found Worldwide

you talked about they stuffed the thing in acid.. it's our destructive method to decapsulate units.. we also use a laser when we must not damage the unit.. maybe they tell us later how were the two dies connected.. if a custom leadframe or simple wires...

I think by "vga" you mean serial.......

The serial cable is only used to extract the key from the liteon drive because it can not yet be extracted over sata. The replacement drive will replace the drive and will not use serial at all.

You are mi-understanding what he is saying.....
yes people  are replacing their drives with benq drives this is called spoofing as you may well know.
The VGA set up is the CK for extracting the key from  the lite-on, well  when the firmware is hackable/completed. this CK kit is designed for all drives but from what i understand the VGA connector is for the lit-on drive.
I don't know if you have seen this in any other forum they say "hang on to them lite-ons they are the best drive in the 360 so far"

take a look at the CK ...this is what he and i are talking about...i dare say you will need this to flash the lite-on when work has been done....

are you sure its a vga cable... it looks like it is a serial cable.. connectors are very similar but one (vga) has 15pin (DB-15) and the other (serial/null modem) has 9 pin (DB-9)...
if it needs a serial cable to flash the thing then let it have a serial cable.. who cares lol just flash!

PS: i dont think its possible to read whatever it is with your graphic card.. except the id of the display...

There is no VGA cable.  The image quoted has a USB connector instead of a serial connection.

DB9 (serial) connectors look similar to DB15 (VGA) but they aren't the same.

it's not a vga connector.. maybe its a db15 connector.. on the board.. the only db15 connector on a recent normal computer is the vga.. but.. it havent any other use than to connect a display.. maybe its just a all in one connector on the board

what image?! quoted where?! lol i want to see it too! lol

I am going to say it again... just to be clear... you say vga, but you really mean serial.

for example

The CK3 Lite... with an attached... what is it? RS-232 cable... aka SERIAL!

Ok...just to clear things up..i think this might be my fault and i will try to clarify what iv'e been trying to say..
i just have to try and re-trace my steps...it's gone out of my history and i don't keep any "my favorites" shortcuts..

please accept my apoligies for my/any confusion...but i am sure i said it was an all in one CK and at this stage was only used for key extraction on the lite-on...

Ahhh yes i see the confusion...and i apoligise if i caused it
