Flashing A Dvd Drive Using A Laptop? Possible?

I don't have a desktop pc and my laptop doesn't have sata controllers. If I buy a USB>SATA converter would this work for flashing my xbox360 Benq DVD drive?

Anyone managed to do something similar?

no that won't work.... you really need a via6421 sata chipset.... there are pcmcia version that are reported to work...
