Which passkey is better? Maximus or Infectus?

I want to flash more than ONE hitachi 079 and in one topic there is written:

Can i flash one time flashet hitachi079 with infectus?

for example: original fw-> installation infectus-> flashing to iXtreme 1.2 [for example, i wasnt't interested in hitachi fw] -> how to reflash it to iXtreme 1.4? is it possible?

If you finished flashing ok, then there is no need to disable passkey, the device will detect that your drive is flashed and will not put it on modeb again so you can leave it on. If you by any other reason want to disable you can bridge with solder the jumper labeled "J1" on first boards it was labeled "TST", a small drop of solder do the trick.

Personally Id get the maximus passkey, its an easier install in my eyes.

You can still update with either later on 100% re-useable

but infectus is cheapier, in my country is about 15$ sheapier than maximus.


So infectus=maximus + some more wires?

adjacent? adjacent to what? Harder to install? if yes then i don't bother - i'm working also in gsm - there are a lot of small parts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)


and have you got any instruction how to reflash 079 with passkey (better with infectus, but with no luck i won't be angry if you'll give me instruction for maximus (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif))?

Not had to a reflash on one but I imagine it'd be restore/ flash in Toolbox using Slax to gain modeb

btw. infectus can also work as unbricker for lg-hitachi.....

Thats funny.......I googled 'Hitachi passkey install' and 'Infectus 79 key install'

Searched 'images' and the install pics where on page 1

you're talking about that? it's only 12 wires, so only 3 more than on maximus and its cheapier and it can be used as unbricker(chilifix) so i think it's better buisness(?)

I have heard that many of the Infectus ones don't work properly.

Not sure if that is true or not but I do remember seeing some threads on here a while back from people who could not get the Infectus chips to work while the Passkey's worked just fine.

so what should i do? buy infectus or 15$ mor expensive maximus?

do i have o install LED on infectus?
